Welcome to my blog!

Hi! My name is Megan, I am 35 years old. I have the best family! I have been married for almost 16 years to my best friend and biggest supporter, Kevin. I have a 17 year old daughter, Morgan, who is beyond sweet and loving. I also have a 14 year old daughter, Hannah, who is passionate about everything she does and keeps the smile on my face. I am blessed beyond measure (my cup runneth over)! I'm a christian, wife, mom, and para educator (pretty much in that order). I love spending time with my family, shopping, and making my house a home.

Recently, I have begun a new journey. On August 8, 2011, two short months after my husband's victory over testicular cancer, I was diagnosed with Stage IIIc colon cancer. Upon receiving the news, I was sure that they were mistaken. I was only 34 years old and colon cancer is for old people or so I thought. Unfortunately, they were not mistaken and colon cancer in younger people is becoming a growing trend in the U.S. The odds were definitely not in my favor (50/50 WITH tumor removal, colon resectioning surgery, and 12 rounds of chemo). After looking into the extremely devastated eyes of all my loved ones, I realized that survival was the only option. I am too young to give up and I still have MANY years left to be a daughter, wife, mommy, friend, coworker, and neighbor. I am fighting a hard battle, but I am NOT ALONE on this journey!
